Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Group was founded in 1985 and comprises of five factories, namely, Jong Shyn, Xin Gao, Lin Sheng, Xin Tian and Xin Chuang which are located in the technical area for shipbuilding in Qi Jing District of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. In 2004, two private shipbuilding factories, Liang He and Liang Cheng were absorbed into the Group and Jade Yacht Shipbuilding was established. Jade Yacht Shipbuilding specializes in building luxurious steel-aluminum made large-sized yachts. The group has a total factory space of 9200 square meters.

The Group consistently invests in recruiting and training of talents and procurement of equipment for automated production. Ten years after its establishment, the Group was recognized by National Defense Industries in Taiwan as a qualified collaborative company. In 1997, the Group’s magnificent performance in automated production earned The Approved Medal presented by the Industrial Development Bureau of Ministry of Economic Affairs.

In 2000, it also passed the ISO-9000 test conducted by Lloyd’s Register in Britain. In 2003, Jade Yacht Shipbuilding also obtained certification from Det Norske Veritas. The standardization and precision of the Group’s techniques and production methods have reached international standards after many years of effort and perseverance.

With the leadership of the CEO, Mr Han Bi Xiang, and the innovation of techniques, Jong Shyn Shipbuilding has built more than four hundred ships, including all sizes of deep-sea fishing vessels, patrol crafts, cruisers, ferries, working ships, tugboats and aluminum speedboats, in the last twenty years. More than six hundred ships are maintained and refitted by Jong Shyn for the Navy, Coast Guard Administration and private companies and all projects were completed to the satisfaction of all clients. Jong Shyn has built up a glowing reputation and earned the admiration of its fraternity and clients.
In 2003, Jade Yacht Shipbuilding became the pioneer of the Group in marketing of exclusive brands and the acquisition of international orders. Jade Yacht’s exclusive knowledge of crucial techniques such as Mirror Panel Coating, Wooden Fine Works and Noise Suppression Methods ensures quality that will satisfy the requirements of the most stringent yacht markets in Europe. Jade Yacht also helps to enhance the standard and reputation of the yacht building industry in Taiwan.

As a life-long ship-maker, Mr Han Bi Xiang, the founder of Jong Shyn Shipbuilding and the president of Taiwan Shipbuilding Union, will lead Jong Shyn into the international market and pursue the opportunities for sustainable development. The Group has not only been  a successful model of private shipbuilding company in Taiwan, but also a guarantee of quality trusted by international clients.
